Ingénieur de formation, j’ai décidé en 2005 de m’investir totalement dans la peinture. Tout n’était qu’une question de volonté et d’imagination. A la réflexion, il y a une certaine similitude entre le travail de recherche de l’artiste dans son atelier et celui du scientifique dans son laboratoire, tous deux visent principalement à innover et à créer.
After studies of engineer, i decided in 2005 to invest myself completely in painting. All was only a question of will and imagination. All things considered, there is a certain similarity between the research task of the artist in his atelier and that of the scientist in his laboratory, both mainly aim innovating and creating.
Je travaille essentiellement sur toiles et sur cartons. Le dessin constitue aussi une part importante de ma création et j’aime parfois mélanger des objets de rebut à mes compositions. Il m'arrive de réaliser ce que j'appelle des "micro-structures" et des "micro-installations" avec ces mêmes objets.
I work mainly on canvas and paperboards. The drawing constitutes also a big part of my creation, sometimes I like to mix some waste materials in my compositions. I also carry out what I call some "micro-structures" and "micro-installations" with these materials.
Mes sources d’inspiration sont diverses, aussi bien artistiques (peinture, dessin, photo, design,…) que scientifiques (création de l’univers, structure de la matière, biologie,…).
My sources of inspiration are various, as well artistic (painting, drawing, photograph, design,...) that’s scientists (creation of the universe, structure of the matter, biology,…).
Je suis autodidacte et je le revendique. Je n’ai pas peur d’expérimenter toutes sortes de techniques et d’oser.
I 'm autodidact and I assert it. I’m not afraid to try out all kinds of technics and to dare.
Quand je peins, mon but c’est de faire ressentir au public des émotions et des impressions nouvelles. Car je situe mon univers pictural dans une approche multi-échelles et en dehors des répères du temps.
When I paint, my goal is to make the public feel new emotions and impressions. Because I locate my pictorial universe in a multi-scales’s approach and outwards from the reference marks of time.
Depuis 2007, la photo est devenue pour moi une activité complémentaire à la peinture. Je travaille beaucoup par séries. Mes thèmes récurrents sont axés sur les paysages urbains déshumanisés vraiment ou faussement abandonnés ; les ambiances nocturnes et de no man's land, et plus rarement des personnages ou des lieux fréquentés par la foule. Il y aussi ce que j'appelle mes "effets visuels" qui pourraient se définir comme des natures mortes ou des pertes de repère spatial délibéremment obtenus par le biais de l'angle de prise de vue inhabituel de l'appareil, le tout ayant pour but de transformer une scène ou un objet habituels en une espèce d'ovni visuel et sensoriel, sans avoir à recourir à des trucages numériques pour autant.
Since 2007, the photograph became for me a complementary activity to painting. I work much by series. My recurrent themes are focused on dehumanized urban landscapes really or wrongfully abandoned ; night environments and of No man' S Land, and more rarely characters or places frequented by crowd. There is also what I call my "visual effects”; who could be defined as still lives or losses of space reference mark, deliberately obtained by the means of the unusual camera angle of the snapshot. The whole having for goal to transform a usual scene or object into a kind of visual and sensorial UFO.
